Instrumentation1996. 12 accelerometers, on 3 levels in the building. 3 accelerometers at a reference free-field site.
 
Vertical Load Carrying System1/2" plywood sheating on 2x10 and 2x12 wood joists and glu-lam beams, supported on 3" diameter tubular columns and 2x6 stud walls. The penthouse floor consists of a 3" concrete slab on 5/8" plywood and 2x12 joists @ 16" o.c.
Lateral Force Resisting SystemDistributed plywood shear walls anchored to the foundation with SIMPSON hold-downs. Plywood roof diaphragm.
Foundation TypeConcrete continuous footings under shear walls. Spread footings under tubular columns. 4" concrete slab on grade.
