Instrumentation1995. 15 accelerometers, on 5 levels in the building.
 
Vertical Load Carrying System4.25" or 3.25" light-weight concrete over 3" metal decks supported by steel beams, girders and columns.
Lateral Force Resisting SystemFour steel K-braced frames in each of the two principal directions. In the basement the perimeter braced frame columns are embedded in concrete wall. Composite floor diaphragms transfer the lateral loads to the frames.
Foundation TypeBraced frame columns are supported by 8' diameter 30' deep concrete caissons that are belled to a bearing diameter of 16'. Remaining columns are supported by isolated spread footings.
