Vertical Load Carrying SystemConcrete over steel deck supported by steel beams and columns.
Lateral Force Resisting SystemSteel moment resisting frames distributed in both directions. The moment connections are pre-Northridge type.
Foundation TypeSteel columns are supported by concrete pile caps tied with concrete grade beams. Each pile cap is supported by 2 to 3 prestressed precast concrete piles (12" square).
RemarksThe building was designed according to the 1976 UBC and was instrumented as part of OSHPD/CSMIP agreement to instrument hospitals in California.
