Vertical Load Carrying SystemLightweight concrete slab over metal deck supported on steel frames.
Lateral Force Resisting SystemMultiple moment resisting steel frames in upper four stories. Concrete shear walls in the basement Frames are tied together by composite floor diaphragms.
Foundation TypeIsolated and combined spread footings several of which are interconnected by tie-beams.
RemarksThe building was designed according to the 1979 UBC and Titles 22 and 24 of the California Administrative Code. It was instrumented as part of the OSHPD/CSMIP Hospital Instrumentation Project.
