Instrumentation1999. 9 accelerometers on the bridge. 3 accelerometers at a free-field site.
 
Superstructure TypeChannel span: Concrete deck on eight welded steel girders. Other spans: Concrete deck on eleven prestressed T-girders. 4 intermediate expansion joints.
Substructure TypeCircular concrete columns interconnected with rectangular concrete struts. Columns and struts were seismically stengthened with steel casing during the retrofit. 2 columns per bent.
Foundation TypeBents 6 to 29 and Abutment 30 are supported on concrete piles. Bents 2 to 5 are supported on spread footings. Abutment 1 is supported on steel H-piles.
RemarksThis bridge was instrumented under the interagency agreement between Caltrans and DOC. The bridge was retrofitted in 1997.
