Instrumentation2012, 12 accelerometers on 4 levels plus 3 accelerometers at a reference free-field.

Vertical Load Carrying System6" thick reinforced concrete flat slab at each level. First Floor supported by reinforced concrete beams and columns. All other levels supported by steel beams and columns.
Lateral Force Resisting SystemSteel moment frames in the longitudinal direction, and steel x-braced frames in the transverse direction. Concrete shear walls at the basement. Retrofit: Addition of buckling restrained steel braces at the first story.
Foundation TypeContinuous concrete footings at interior and perimeter walls, and isolated concrete spread footings at interior columns. Concrete caissons at First Floor level foundation.
RemarksThe voluntary seismic improvement (VSI) was designed in accordance with the 2010 California Building Code. Funding for instrumentation was provided by the owner as required by OSHPD. CSMIP provided assistance in instrumentation.
