Formats of Mixed Effects Data Files

Total residuals (csv)

These files contain the natural logarithm of the total residuals with respect to the given ground-motion model (GMM), ln(R_total) = ln(Y_obs) - ln(Y_gmm), where R_total is the total residual, Y_obs is the ground-motion metric from the ground-motion record, and Y_gmm is the predicted ground-motion metric from the GMM. We compute total residuals for all spectral values even those at periods outside the passband of the filtered ground-motion records. We use negative spectral acceleration values to indicate values at spectral periods outside the passband of the filtered record. The list of columns is organized by earthquake, station, and record parameters followed by ground-motion metrics; it does not match the order of the columns in the CSV files.

Mixed Effects Results

These JSON files contain the results of the linear mixed effects analysis for each ground-motion model. The mixed effects include groupings by EarthquakeId and SiteId. PGV is in cm/s, PGA and spectral acceleration are in %g. NaN values indicate values that are not available from the analysis, such as cases in which a ground-motion metric is outside the passband for all records.

These JSON files contain the fixed effect (bias, often denoted by k) and standard deviation in the event term (std_EarthquakeId, often denoted tau), site term (std_SiteId, often denoted phiS2S), and remaining residual (std_residuals, often denoted phiSS) for each ground-motion intensity metric (IMT: PGV, PGA, SA(X) where X is the spectral period in seconds). PGV is in cm/s, PGA and spectral acceleration are in %g.
